5 Woes Of Carrying Tiffins To Work

Do you carry a tiffin to work? probably everyone does, given it is an essential part of our lives. Knowing how useful tiffins are, there are some major problems which come with using it.

Here a few issues with tiffins that we can all agree on,

Let’s face it, tiffins are heavy

No one likes carrying a bulky “dabba” every day to lunch, but what else can we do? Tiffins come in various sizes and materials, the ones made of steel are quite heavy compared to their plastic counterpart. Heavy tiffins on top of backpacks while travelling in a public transport is a struggle for sure.

Spilling or the worst possible thing that can happen

This situation brings out the best in all of us..at least when it comes to swearing. Frustration is a massive understatement, firstly the main thing i.e.the food is wasted and if by chance you had the brilliant idea, to keep your tiffin near the documents then..ouch!

Plastic containers even though light and compact, the chances of spilling increases in case of curries and daal.

Choices do matter

Due to tiffins, you may not get the choice of food you want every-day. Sometimes you may even have to eat “laukey” or “karela”. And as the saying goes “your food depicts your mood”, no one wants to be bitter all day. Plain rice is plain rice, no matter how much we may wish for it to magically turn into Biryani.

Cleaning or 15 minutes of phone time lost

Cleanliness is another hassle, especially which bachelors have to face. After a tiring day at work who would want to spend our night cleaning our tiffin and utensils as the time could be better utilized watching funny cat-videos.

Grocery prices & preparation time

Even after facing all the above problems the one thing that always melts our heart is the grocery bill. The half-hearted meal turns more depressing if the grocery prices shoots up. Granted no one can survive only on Maggi, though argument can be made because it’s delicious but buying the groceries and cooking meals every day, before going to work takes a lot of time. We do need our refreshing sleep, don’t we? 😉

You can never replace tiffins but there is an alternative to enjoy delicious Desi meals in the office. Here’s where Box8 comes into the picture with scrumptious all-in-1 meals, fusion boxes for wholesome lunch experience and wraps and sandwiches for people in the mood for something light and healthy. Some days a box(pun intended) is better than a tiffin. 🙂

Man’s Appetite for BOX8 Dal Makhni Sparks Assault at Get Together

The Mumbai City Civil Court has seen its fair share of thrilling and sometimes bizarre trials but the “Banta Singh vs Santa Singh” trial being held today takes the cake. In a “never seen before incident” as quoted by the witnesses, a peaceful and lively get-together descended into chaos after a brawl took place between two men over ‘BOX8’s Dal Makhani’.

Even the guests and police alike had a hard time accepting the reason. Later when the police released an official statement, the true story came out. The defendant Santa Singh, an avid fan of BOX8 meals went crazy soon after Banta Singh; ate the remaining dal makhani. Santa Singh claimed “I said dibs first before going to the washroom and by the time I came back, it was gone. Banta broke the ‘Bro Code’ !”.

Banta Singh refused to comment and despite his severe injuries, still ordered another dal makhani meal. The less than subtle attempt to provoke Santa was effective as the police had to restrain him; from going after Banta again.

When the question “what is so special about BOX8 Dal Makhani?” was raised by the reporters, the Company representative cheekily replied ”Try it yourself, it’s irresistible”

Stay tuned for live telecast of the trial and rumours suggest the defence lawyer is planning to use dal makhani; as evidence to plead “temporary loss of control” for Santa Singh.

Cheat-Days Done Right!!

Cutting those extra kgs and getting fit for summer requires dedication. We all know every bite of food turns into a math problem, the day we start hitting the gym.

However, gym is average one-hour of hard work and the rest is all about the diet you follow. More than anything else, sacrificing your favourite foods is the true manifestation of the age old saying of “No Pain, No Gain”.  Thankfully, everyone on a strict regime of gym and diet is allowed to have one day in a week as the cheat-day to eat good meals without worrying about the calories.  However, a cheat day also has a lot of limitations.

A cheat-day isn’t a ‘credit card with no spending limit’,  but it’s a slippery slope. So, don’t start calling your favourite pizza place yet, the cheat-day comes with its own terms and conditions.

If you intend to stay faithful to your goal, only one cheat meal is recommended. Indulging beyond the point of return, will render the entire week’s workouts fruitless.

Okay, didn’t meant to go full doom and gloom here but there’s a silver lining.  Since “treat your body like a temple” became popular, many innovative options popped up to satisfy cravings of the health conscious folks.

Made with whole wheat paratha base, they’re stuffed with delicious fillings and baked in an oven. One wrap and you are will be thoroughly satisfied! ven Baked (NOT fried). Chicken Seek Kebab and Mayo Tikki wraps does the trick for most 😉
